After four days, the time had come to move closer to Honolulu and the University. Our destination for the next four days would be the Kahala. This has become our 'go to' place to stay when I make the University trips. It is wonderfully convenient, but surprisingly off on its own to the east of Diamond Head.......and only a 12 minute drive to campus.
Breakfast outside on the patio had a 5 minute rain (shower) diversion, but it was actually refreshing. We left by late morning and made it to the Kahala for a late (1:30) lunch at the beach cafe. After some goofing off around the resort, we headed downtown to House without a Key for drinks, and Orchid's for dinner. They are both at the Halekulani Hotel and Resort. What a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine's Day!
